What a fruit!
The beautiful Pomegranate is the star of Middle Eastern cooking and is so versatile.
Pomegranates are high in Vitamin C which boosts your immunity and protects from disease. Vitamin C also helps the body absorb iron. In clinical trials, they have also been shown to lower cholesterol and blood pressure, as well as being a potent source of antioxidants.
How to remove the seeds:
1. Cut in half and hold the seeded cross-section away from you
2. Gently pry open the half and (with the cross-section still facing down) hold it over a bowl whilst tapping quite firmly with a knife or large spoon.
3. The seeds should fall right out!
How to use it:
Pomegranates have a very sweet taste and are perfect on top of yoghurt or granola, and can be blended together with smoothies.
They also add a beautiful crunchy texture to Summer salads and another level of flavour to savoury dishes.
