How Ayurveda can heal your life

It healed mine… 

A few months ago I travelled to India where I discovered the healing power of Ayurveda. For over 5,000 years, Ayurveda treatments have been practiced throughout the world. Originating in the state of Kerella in India, this ancient science of life and longevity aims to restore imbalances whilst promoting the flow of prana (known as vital energy) within the body and mind. 

I came back to Sydney and I was so delighted to know that I could incorporate this technique into my life here at home. I discovered the healing house, The Ayurvedic Wellness Centre in Bondi Junction.

Ayurveda is holistic approach that looks at each person as an individual within their own body type (prakruti) and current health condition (vikruti) and an appropriate treatment is engaged for the body to experience.

Why do we need this healing? Because we live in a toxic world….

Modern living places additional pressures on the body to perform. Not only on it physically but also mentally. Stress and toxins contribute to the production of the hormone Cortisol in the body. 
Cortisol pollutes the blood and reduces the proper functioning of the immune system and even the nervous system. This is when we begin to feel sluggish, run-down, tired and irritable. Other symptoms of Cortisol pollution include weight-gain, skin conditions and a lack of mental clarity and poor creativity.
In addition, impurities can also pollute our bodies. These are usually caused by bad diets and poor digestion and result in large molecules being absorbed that the body can’t process. If these are clogging the body, it can’t absorb vitamins, minerals proteins etc. that it needs. What’s more vital organs, like the liver, can’t function properly. Overall, toxins and impurities can have a negative “domino effect” on your health and mental wellbeing.
