Tell us a little about who you are, what you do, and how you got here:

I’m a fast walker, yogi lover, master of multi-tasking and completely & utterly into health, wellbeing, beauty and lifestyle.  I’m owner and Director of Relauncher, an online destination for all your healthy lifestyle needs – consisting of an Online Shop, Industry Directory and Blog.

What does ‘health’ mean to you?

To me, health needs to be taken with a holistic approach.  When the physical, psychological & social elements are in tune, achieving optimal health is in the palm of your hand.

How do you manage to stay so fit and healthy?  Please share with us your dietary philosophy/secrets:

It’s all about balance and being mindful.  I credit a lot of this to meditation and knowing what my body needs.  At the moment, I’ve been craving oranges – so that’s what I’ve been eating when I feel like it.  I stay fit and healthy through having a low sugar diet and have cut out processed foods and a lot of dairy.  For exercise, I mix it up between cycling, yoga, walking, jogging and going to the beach.

What brings balance to your life?

Family life and exercise.  The kids mean I can’t work long hours, so I have to work efficiently and effectively.  This is a really good line in the sand for me, otherwise I’d be working 3hrs+ longer each day!  I couldn’t function a day without exercise.  Even if it’s just movement and walking for 30 minutes.  Without it, my smile isn’t as big and I get agitated – watch out! lol

What is your favourite healthy recreational activity?

It changes depending on the weather.  At the moment, I’m loving bike riding.  I love being able to cover a large distance over a short amount of time.  I’ve got a basket on my bike too – it gives me great satisfaction having that basket (not sure what the psychology is behind that one!)  I’m also making the most of the last beautiful warmish days at the beach too!

Who is your greatest health inspiration?

A lot of my motivation comes from within.  This, combined with surrounding myself with amazing nutritionists, health coaches and exercise lovers creates a supportive community which oozes knowledge, encouragement and support on a daily basis.  Communities of like-minded people can be so powerful!

Where is your favourite place on earth?

That’s a hard one.  I love to travel, but I’d have to say that my favourite place on earth is anywhere my family is.

What is your favourite meal/snack?

I can’t get enough of my Raw Chocolate Tart.  I made it for Easter and have whipped it up again (& again..).

What is your favourite healthy neighbourhood restaurant?

There are a few.  I have Bread & Circus at the end of my street – so that’s definitely up there. I’m also really enjoying Sub-Station Cafe, which is on McEvoy Street Alexandria.  Amazing salads which I can highly recommend!!  I often have meetings at both cafes, or just go there to do some work.

What is next on the cards for you?  What are your goals and aspirations?

I have new products arriving in the online store every couple of weeks plus I’m hosting a Raw Food Workshop with a Certified Raw Foods Chef.  We’ll be releasing the details in the coming weeks.  Beyond that, there are a couple of Relauncher projects on the go, which are keeping me very busy amongst the day-to-day operation of the company.

Alison’s Raw Chocolate Nut Cake

Base Ingredients:

Base Method:

Place all ingredients in the blender & mix until finely chopped up.  Once the mixture resembles crumbs, press into a lined slice dish or cake tin.  Place into the fridge while you prepare the topping.

Tip: if the dates seem hard, soak them in boiling water for 5 minutes.  Discard the water and proceed with the recipe.  You’ll also find this adds extra moisture to the base.

* To activate the nuts, soak them overnight in water, or for up to 24 hrs. Rinse off, then they are read to use in the recipe.

Place all ingredients in the blender and mix until it’s a chocolatey consistency.  If it’s too dry, add a TBS or so extra of hot water.  Place on top of the base, then scatter coconut on top – and whatever else you choose.  Put back in the fridge for 1-2 hrs before serving.
