I am so lucky to live down the road from an absolute mecca of healthy and delicious food. Bondi Beach has such an amazing array of healthy cafes these days – from Poké bowls on the beach to rainbow raw veggie salads… These are my favourites:
17-18/110 Ramsgate Ave, North Bondi
One of my fave places to sit and take in the Bondi atmosphere – overlooking Bondi beach! They have a very fresh approach to food. The Green Brekky Bowl is a classic – quinoa, kale, spinach, coriander, mint, parsley, poached eggs and avocado.
1/173-179 Bronte Rd, Queens Park
Although it’s not technically in Bondi, Ruby’s deserves a mention on this list. I adore their wholefood approach and most of their menu is organic and paleo friendly! The Breakfast Salad is my fave: heaps of greens, poached eggs, almonds and avocado on a bed of soft feta… Heaven.
180 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach
New to Bondi but already has lines every lunch time! These guys do amazing poké – raw, sashimi style fish on a bed of brown rice, cabbage or kelp noodles and then topped with a bunch of delicious Japanese-inspired toppings. Think pickled ginger, edamame and seaweed salad with a Bondi touch of toasted coconut flakes, macadamias or avocado smash! There’s also tofu for veggie lovers and the whole menu is customisable so you can mix and match to make your perfect poké bowl!
140 Glenayr Ave, Bondi Beach
A bustling Bondi café with a New York deli meets Bondi Beach local vibe. Everything on their menu is super tasty but I love their salads the most – the pumpkin salad with quinoa, spinach, carrot, cucumber and added smoked ocean trout + of course, the best Brussels sprouts in the East (except for in my kitchen hehe!). Also worth trying: The Bowlarama: sprouted quinoa toast, poached eggs, avocado, hummus, kale, seaweed, homemade fermented veggies & miso dressing – yum!
2 Mitchell St, North Bondi
This place is a North Bondi Institution. Best hummus platters of all time. But you can’t go to Shuk without having their Shakshuka. I love their Green Shakshuka with added kale – classic Nutritionist 😉
132 Warners Ave, Bondi Beach
For any of my veggie lovers – this one is for you! Completely raw, gluten-free and vegan – Sadhana Kitchen caters for all people. Was so excited when they opened up in Bondi. I love their Bondi Bowl full of green goodness, macadamia cheese, avocado, fresh and fermented veggies and an amazing tahini dressing. For a Summer’s day – their Cocowhip is also divine.
18/2A Jaques Ave, Bondi Beach
If you need a quick and fresh lunch option – this is the place. Banana Blossom’s salads are full of delicious Asian-inspired flavour – I love the Tokyo Chicken (with green tea soba noodles if I need something more substantial).
1/30A Hastings Parade, North Bondi
TAHINI BAKED TROUT with CAULI 'STEAK' Succulent piece of ocean trout smothered in a creamy tahini yoghurt sauce & vibrant fresh herbs, on a bed of silky cauliflower puree and THE most delicious cauliflower 'steak' (a thick wedge of cauliflower coated in spices and oven roasted so its soft & creamy on the inside and deliciously crunchy and crusty on the outside…so darn good!!). Finished with crunchy toasted almond slivers & a lively sprinkle of Z'atar Available all tomorrow and next week at BONDI WHOLEFOODS. So comforting & warming but so healthy & full of veggie goodness. #healthy #fit #fitness #seafood #yum #foodporn #bondi #surryhills #brunch #lunch #yum #wholefoods #nutrition #protein
Wholefoodie heaven! They have a variety of divine salads for lunch each day. If I’m time poor, I’ll run in and grab a takeaway, then add my own protein (organic tinned tuna, leftover poached chicken or half a can of chickpeas) when I get home – and back to work!
106 Glenayr Ave, Bondi Beach
I always get the ‘Michelle Special’ Piadina on the kamut or gluten-free base. Yummy coffee too!
154 Glenayr Ave, Bondi Beach.
Delicious wholesome salad options – the Za’atar chicken is my favourite. Eli the owner is so hospitable – will always greet you with a smile!
Honourable mention to… Orchard St!
2 Brighton Blvd, North Bondi
Afternoon snack time?? Orchard St’s raw goodies always do the trick.
