My Top 3 Tips to Beat Stomach Bloat

There are a few little secrets to beating the bloat and getting a flatter stomach. Here is what I recommend – and what you should ditch:

  1. Stay away from gluten, sugar and refined dairy. These are difficult to digest and cause bloating.
  2. Drink lemon water each morning and enjoy 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar in water before meals to increase healthy stomach acid and reduce bloating.
  3. Eating papaya in the morning also helps soothe the digestive system – I generally encourage eating fruit on an empty stomach to beat the bloat.

 

Here’s a quick look at a day of meals to help soothe your tummy:

Breakfast: Fresh papaya with a drizzle of lime juice, then poached eggs, avocado and spinach

Lunch: Quinoa and salmon salad with a mustard lemon dressing (find my favourites in The Healthy Life!)

Snack: Carrots and hummus

Dinner: Chicken breast, brown rice and sautéed veggies
