Not a fan of Protein Powders? That is ok!

I understand….

Although I do endorse a few good quality protein powders (see the list) without the added chemicals, I do always try to go for the whole-food option first.

If you do not want to go down the road of protein powders, here are a few alternatives.

I just came up with a great natural mix that is rich in protein + a few other options:

Natural protein mix you can create: 

  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp. ground flaxseed/LSA mix
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tsp  Spirulina

= Roughly 20g protein

Alternatively in your smoothies/oatmeal you can use the following as a protein source:

  • 1 raw egg
  • 2 tbsp. LSA mix/Ground Flaxseed
  • 2-3 tbsp. Greek yoghurt ( sugar-free)
  • 1 tbsp. Spirulina + 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup raw nuts + 1/4 cup raw seeds  (pumpkin/sunflower)
  • 3-4 tbsp. cottage cheese
  • 1-2 tbsp nut butter

    Would you put all of that in the smoothie or is each dot point a different option?

    • The first part of dot points- you can use all

      Second part of dot points is a different option- use one or the other.

      Does that make sense 🙂
