As we all readjust to normality after the holidays and look to get our health back on track, now is the perfect time to reset and consider whether you’re supporting your metabolism.

Your metabolism is so important – it’s responsible for converting food into energy. To support my metabolism, there are five things I do each and every day. I want to share them with you guys, so if you also want to give your trusty metabolism a helping hand, give them a go today! They’re all super simple and easy to incorporate into your daily routine!

1. My Metabolism + Sugar Support formula

Angels, this formula is a game changer. It contains Chromium, Magnesium and Zinc to assist in the metabolism of glucose, carbs, lipids and proteins. Zinc is so incredible for supporting your metabolism, and the Cinnamon and Gymnema in this vitamin also support healthy blood sugar levels. In fact, our community has seen huge decreases in sugar cravings, and improved metabolism function! I pop this twice daily (once at breakfast, and again at lunch) with meals, and can truly say it’s helped my metabolism immensely!

2. Eat more protein

Protein is essential for metabolism function. A high protein intake has actually been proven to boost metabolism. I love to include a source of lean protein, such as chicken, fish or tempeh, with each meal. This helps regulate my metabolic function, and also keeps me feeling satiated and satisfied after I eat.

3. Sleep more!

Funny isn’t it, that sleeping can actually improve your metabolism!

Studies have shown that not getting enough sleep can negatively affect your glucose metabolism, and the hormones involved in regulating your metabolism. So if you’re not getting the necessary amount of sleep, you’re at risk of damaging your metabolism in the long term.

Similarly, when we’re tired, we’re far more likely to make poor food choices. It becomes so much harder to resist the greasy burger and fried chips and opt for the buddha bowl! So not only is sleep essential for metabolic function, it also allows us to make the food choices, which further support our metabolism.

But remember, sleeping for too long can also damage your metabolism, so aim for between 7-9 hours per night!

4. Drink enough water

Water is another surprising factor which plays a huge role in regulating our metabolism. Drinking enough water throughout the day has been shown to improve metabolic function, as well as helping to stabilise weight.

Water, like sleeping, is also essential for our food choices. If we’re hydrated, we’re less likely to mistake thirst for hunger. This means we can tune into our body and the foods it really needs, rather than reaching for whatever sugary, fast foods we can get our hands on first!

Hope these help angels, let’s feel our best in 2020 together!
