I’m Madeleine Shaw, a health coach, food blogger and yoga teacher. I inspire women through my blog to enliven the hottest, happiest and healthiest versions of themselves.

  1. What was the ‘uh ha’ moment that made you get into health and wellbeing?

Living in Sydney. I moved there when I was 18, while living there I developed terrible IBS due to my low fat high sugar diet ways. On my long journey to find a way to fix myself I came across a paleo gym and cafe in Bondi and started working there. It changed my life I learnt about what food my body needed, how to cook and healed my digestive issues. It was amazing, I never had a job that felt effortless and I knew I had to spread this message of well being back home.

  1. 11198866_10153234595930699_692830175_nHow important is our relationship with food?

Its everything, you can eat all the kale in the world but if you hate your body it will hate you back. Its much harder to do this than change your diet.

  1. What does a typical day on your plate look like?

Breakfast – Spicy scrambled eggs with spring onion, chilli and garlic served with avocado salsa and flaked almonds. I like to start my morning with protein, it fuels me for the day. Lunch – Grilled salmon, smoked paprika roasted sweet potato and rocket salad. Dinner – My squash curry and cauliflower rice with some raw chocolate fudge for dessert (recipes in my book!)

  1. What inspires you and keeps you motivated each day?

I feel better when I eat well and exercise, when I don’t I feel it, thats what keeps me going!

  1. 11100958_10153234595760699_1100019702_nWhat is the best piece of advice you have received?

There is only one you.

  1. What are the top 3 foods you can’t live without?

Eggs, young thai coconuts and slow roast lamb.

  1. What are some cafes in London you are loving right now?

Boma Green, The Good Life and 10 Greek Street.

  1. What is your life motto or mantra you live by?

Be the change you want to see in the world.

11198698_10153234595865699_1033328072_n10. What is it that you wish to achieve by entering the health industry – what do you hope to change/improve?

Women’s attitude to food and their bodies. To inspire people to fall back in love with food and themselves.

11. Any tips or advice for those just starting out on their health journey?

Start with breakfast, throw out that cereal and get some eggs into you, it will stop you craving that chocolate at 4pm. Then you can work on lunch and dinner but start slow.
