I often sing the praises of coconut oil for cooking and baking, but I truly use the miracle oil all throughout the day in so many ways. Health benefits all around!
It’s part of my feel-good arsenal for:
- Hair care
- Skin care (I use it as a moisturizer)
- Stress relief
- Proper digestion
- Balanced metabolism
- Weight maintenance
- Increased immunity
- Dental care
- Bone strength
And it’s got major benefits for people with heart disease, kidney problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer and HIV. It’s believed to be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid. It’s also got strong antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal and antibacterial properties – all brilliant for our bodies!
Some of my favorites ways to use coconut oil?
Coconut oil is wonderful for massaging and moisturizing the skin. It prevents dryness and flaking, and delays the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Because of its antioxidant properties, it helps prevent premature aging. I love to use it as an eye makeup remover!
Since it contains both short and medium-chain fatty acids, coconut oil helps take off excess weight. It’s easy to digest, which helps the thyroid and endocrine system function. Coconut oil also decreases stress on the pancreas, which burns energy and increases metabolic rate.
The saturated fat in coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, which helps manage indigestion caused by bacteria and parasites. It also helps our bodies absorb other nutrients, vitamins and amino acids.
