Day on a Plate: Hannah Bronfman

Girlcrush alert! Hannah Bronfman is a DJ, model, entrepreneur and the founder of HBFIT. Her Instagram is our daily inspo to get active and cook up some delicious and easy healthy food! We are so excited to feature Hannah on the blog today, sharing her Day on a Plate!

 

Morning Matcha:

If you know anything about me at all, it’s probably that I have a huge obsession with Matcha. I’ve recently started calling myself Matcha Stewart, so you know how real it is. I started making my own Matcha a year or two ago, and now it’s my morning staple. The only ingredients I use are hot water, organic matcha powder, and a tablespoon of coconut oil. It wakes me up without giving me the jitters that coffee does, and it tastes amazing.

Breakfast:

I’m a huge believer in the fact that we need healthy fats in our diet. It keeps our metabolism moving and helps cognitive function, so I never skimp on good fats. I love having eggs and avocado for breakfast because it’s light enough not to hold me down, but filling enough to give me a good energy boost to start my day. I season it with salt and pepper and some spices, and it’s delicious.

Lunch:

My lunch is usually on the lighter side, but if I’m home, I like to make a big salad bowl with fresh greens and vegetables from the Union Square farmer’s market. I go for whatever is in season at the time, so right now I’m loving fresh radish slices and romaine lettuce. I also like to add hearts of palm and some herbs for added flavor, and of course I throw in some more avocado! I’m not a huge dressing person because they’re usually packed with sugar and unnecessary ingredients, so olive oil and lemon juice does the trick for me.

Snacks:

I tend to eat dinner on the later side, so I always need snacks to get me through the afternoon. If I’m on set or travelling, I go for raw almonds or cashews. They’re filled with protein, fiber, and healthy fat, so they’re a staple when I’m on the go. When I have the time to sit down, I love doing hummus and vegetables. It’s so simple but so yummy. I’ll go for celery, carrots, or even use some leftover ingredients from my lunch.

Almond Milk Latte:

I don’t drink coffee every single day, but when I do, I love an almond milk latte. I buy them at coffee shops or even make them at home. Califia Farms makes an amazing almond milk that works really well. It’s just a great afternoon treat if I need the extra energy or if I’m doing an evening workout.

Dinner:

There are so many amazing places to go out to dinner in New York City, but my favorite nights are when I can cook my favorite homemade dishes at home. I love feeding my friends, so I’ll invite a few people over and make a huge pot of soup with fresh ingredients and lots of herbs and spices.  This one is my favorite chicken zoodle soup. It’s amazing! There’s nothing better than enjoying good food with good company.
