The JSHealth App is not a diet, and does not tell you what to eat or what not to eat. At JSHealth we don’t believe in fads, trends or diet culture in general. The App is designed to help you live a lifestyle you can enjoy and sustain forever. Each individual is so unique, so it would be impossible to provide one-size-fits-all advice. Diets involve rules, restriction and deprivation, which all lead to a disordered relationship with food. We want to achieve the opposite! The App includes a suggested meal plan, where you can either choose which recipe you desire for each meal, or alternatively access an automated balanced meal plan for each day. The choice is yours!
Yes, the JSHealth App does cater to allergies and intolerances, and the recipes can be adapted very easily. The sub-categories for our recipes include: gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, egg-free, vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian. You can filter for these categories, and choose from the options available. You can also make your own swaps. For example, you can use gluten-free bread, coconut yoghurt instead of dairy alternatives, or seeds instead of nuts. The majority of these optional swaps will be listed in the ingredients list – easy peasy!
There are plenty of vegan options available in the JSHealth App. The recipes are predominantly plant-based. You can filter the recipes using the ‘vegan’ sub-category. We also list plant-based options in the ‘Notes’ sections for most of our recipes!
Absolutely! Who wants to be stuck in the kitchen for more than 20 minutes? We’re all busy and time-poor. The point is, healthy does not need to be time-consuming or difficult. The recipes are all so simple, using minimal ingredients and appliances to create the most delicious meals. Might we add, it’s never too late to start enjoying cooking. The more you make these delicious meals, the more addictive it becomes! Happy cooking 🙂
There are plenty of family-friendly meals you can make. You can also filter the recipes using our ‘family meals’ sub-category. We want to make this as easy as possible for you. It’s time to stop making more than one meal to cater for everyone in the family. These meals are still packed with vegetables and nutrients, and are simple and delicious, meaning the kids can enjoy them too!
The App caters to Australian, USA and UK conversions to make it easy for all our users. Upon signing up to the App, you will be given the option to select your preferred recipe system. You can also update your preferences at any time.
Yes, the App includes a meal plan where you can choose any of the 600+ recipes you wish to include for each meal, or alternatively you can select the suggested balanced meal plan for each day. The choice is yours! You can also access this a week before, so you can add all your selected meals to your shopping list and prepare in advance. Hello, organisation!
Calorie and macro breakdowns are not included in the App for the users to see. We believe this creates rules and restrictions around eating, which often leads to a disordered relationship with food. However, our nutritionists have entered each recipe into a nutrition analysis software to ensure that the meals are nutritionally balanced, and within an appropriate range of calories.
You’ve come to the right place! Whichever recipe you choose, whether it be in the ‘Recipes’ category or in the meal planner, there is an ‘Add to shopping list’ button. When you click this, a tick will appear. We’ve also introduced a brilliant new feature to take all the stress out of shopping, where your ingredients will automatically be added together whenever you add multiple recipes to the shopping list. For example, if one recipe you’ve chosen calls for two bananas and another recipe calls for one banana, three bananas will be added to your list.
Go as rogue as you like! We have formulated the recipes so they are nutritionally balanced and delicious. However, each individual has their own completely unique nutritional requirements and taste buds. Can you imagine if we all ate the exact same amount of the exact same food every day? Have fun experimenting with the recipes!
We want you to still be able to go out and enjoy a beautiful meal with your friends and family without the anxiety! Just do your best with the choices available to you. Head to the Clinic section of the App and check out the ‘Nutrition Basics’ section where you’ll find the ‘Eating Out Guide’.

This is the beauty of our workouts! They can be enjoyed absolutely anywhere, from your living room, to your garden, to your garage, to the park, or at the gym if you like. You do not need to join a gym to complete these workouts. What a money saver, right!
There are a range of different exercises on offer! These include HIIT, strength/tone, yoga, Pilates, barre and rest day stretch/breathing exercises. How awesome is that! Stick to the options you love, or enjoy a variety to work all those different muscle groups.
Of course! We want everyone, no matter what their fitness level, to be able to enjoy our workouts. They are too much fun to miss out on! You can take each video at your own pace, pausing and resuming when you need to. Each trainer provides alternate options within each workout to cater to different fitness levels. You may drop to your knees or toes while doing push-ups, or add weights for that extra burn.
No fancy equipment required! A couple of the toning workouts use light weights or a skipping rope. However, there are always other options offered, such as using water bottles in place of weights, or jumping on the spot if you don’t have a skipping rope.
We’re here for all you soon-to-be-mummas! We have approximately two pregnancy-safe workouts in each yoga, barre, Pilates and tone workout category. In these videos, the expert trainers will provide modifications to help guide you. However, If you have a pre-existing medical condition or are pregnant or breast-feeding, you should still consult your health care professional before engaging in any of these exercises. The video content we provide is not intended to offer medical advice, or replace the advice from your doctor, midwife, physical therapist or obstetrician.
As we don’t know enough about your fitness goals, level of strength or your weight, it’s difficult to provide individualised plans. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and everyone enjoys different types of exercise at different levels. We’re constantly adding new workouts so there’s plenty for you to choose from. You can also create your own workout plan with what is provided.
Yes, absolutely! We would never want you to feel locked in to anything. We’re pretty confident that you won’t want to cancel, though. Everything handed to you on a silver platter? Yes please!

Most of the apps on the App Store and Google Play Store are updated automatically. But you can also update the App manually. Follow the below guide specific to your store:

- Open the App Store on your device. If you’re using iOS 12 or earlier, tap ‘Today’ at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes. Tap ‘Update’ next to an app to update only the one app, or tap ‘Update All’.
Google Play Store
- Open the Google Play Store on your device.
- Tap ‘Menu’, and then ‘My apps & games’.
- Select the app you wish to update.
- Tap ‘More’.
- Tap ‘Enable auto update’.
No problem! Open the JSHealth App, tap ‘I already have an account’, and then ‘Forgot Password’. Then, enter your registered email address to receive a password reminder.
Firstly, we would like you to check if you have updated to the latest version of the App on your device. If you have, check that there is an available Internet connection, then completely close the App and reopen it again. In most cases this will be the quick fix. If you’re still facing the same issue, please email us with details on firstname.lastname@example.org and our technical team will help you out!
You can sign up via the ‘Join Now’ or ‘Sign Up’ link above whenever you like, and you’ll receive immediate access to Pre-Program (‘prep’) content.
This ‘prep’ content will help you prepare your kitchen, pantry and mindset in readiness for the JSHealth Program.
You will then receive the content for Week 1 of the Program on the Sunday after you signed up.
On each Sunday following this, for the duration of the eight week Program, we will unlock the content, videos and recipes for your week ahead, to keep you on track!
The JSHealth Program is designed for you only – each membership gives you a personal account to the JSHealth Online Forum, where you can interact with all other participants of the JSHealth Program around the world.
As a member, you will also have your own personal journal and e-notepad built into your Program resource pack, with weekly reflection questions from Jess to help you record your progress and track your mindset over the course of the eight weeks.
The JSHealth Program doesn’t require you to follow daily recipes or specific meal plans (although there are plenty of meal guides/ideas). The recipes are more tutorials around how to prepare meals, handy guides on preparation of foods such as roast vegetables, tips and tricks for cooking proteins, and nutrition advice on including certain foods into your diet.
In fact, recipes are only really a quarter of the content contained in the Program, it also contains content on lifestyle, nutrition and having a healthy and balanced relationship with food, exercise and your body.
We do encourage you to cook as much as you can to get the most out of the JSHealth Program. The ‘8 Week Meal Plan’ in the Program offers you four suggestions to cook for each meal, so there’s plenty of variety and options. The meals are all simple, and designed so anyone can easily create them.
Yes, the meals are suitable for everyone, and the Program even offers healthy alternatives to your family’s favourite meals so everyone will be satisfied! I suggest encouraging family members to join you in eating your nutritious, delicious meals – you’ll be able to show them how delicious healthy food can be. The meal plan is simple enough that you won’t find it hard to incorporate into your family meals.
Yes, absolutely. The Program offers vegan and vegetarian swaps for each of the main meal options. Most meals are also gluten-free, grain-free and dairy-free, so it caters to everyone!
As much as you need! You’ll have direct access to a support email address, where you can ask all your questions at any time. You will also be a part of an exclusive, members-only live forum, where you can chat to other people going through the Program at the same time as you, so you feel supported.
I believe weight loss is a result of a healthy life. While the Program is designed to help you reach your most balanced weight, it is more focussed on building healthy habits and restoring a positive relationship with food.
Week 7 delves into reaching a balanced weight, however the principles in each week focus on restoring your entire body, which will in turn allow it to reach its optimal weight. For example, gut health, sleep, stress, thyroid health and blood sugar balance are directly linked to weight loss.
On the other hand, dieting makes weight loss much more difficult in the long-term, which is why the Program helps you give up diets for life… Instead, the Program focuses on helping you eat in a way that works best for your body. And, if you’re underweight, the JSHealth Program will help you to reconnect to your body and build a healthier relationship with food.

As someone who is a frequent traveler for work, I had you in mind whilst creating the Program. The meal plan and eating guide can be followed from anywhere! I have added multiple options as suggestions for each meal, as well as ‘On-The-Go’ tips and meal options. I have also included a ‘Travel Tips’ document into the ‘General Resources’ section, which will assist you whenever you’re travelling; it includes all the things I personally do to stay healthy whilst travelling.
Yes you can! Exciting, isn’t it? The Program will just teach you how to enjoy these moderately and with balance, to achieve your healthiest body and life. The JSHealth philosophy is all about balance – nothing is restricted or off-limits!
My first book, The Healthy Life, is a summary of all I had learnt about health, nutrition and wellness. It contains the 10 principles that helped me personally heal my relationship with food and my body, and live a healthier, happier life. The recipes in my first book are the ones I originally created when I transitioned from a fad dieter to a whole foods eater.
My second book, Living the Healthy Life, contains powerful and in-depth content focussed on helping you achieve a healthier life and body, and is a fantastic accompaniment to the JSHealth Program, which teaches you how to practically implement these principles.
Living the Healthy Life provides further explanation about the importance of healing your relationship with food, dieting, and your body. It offers more personal anecdotes about my own experiences with orthorexia and disordered eating, restriction and deprivation, and an obsession with being “healthy”.
