Raw Chocolate Cake

As I reflected on my amazing health retreat at Kamalaya to share the experience details with you, I found myself craving the healthy meals that were so lovingly prepared – all of them, of course, received the JSHealth tick of approval! One that I’m preparing for the weekend is actually a treat! It was one of our favourite desserts and, of course, is filled with healthy, whole ingredients. Not your standard restaurant dessert, to be sure! Give this one a try – it’s decadently healthy!

  • Walnut base ingredients
  • 500 gr Walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp Cacao powder
  • 1 Tbsp Flax seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 16 Pitted dates
  • 1 Orange zest and juice
  • Chocolate frosting ingredients
  • 280 gr Organic honey
  • 630 gr Avocado (6 pcs)
  • 24 gr Vanilla extract
  • 120 gr Cacao powder

 

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients for the base and grind in food processor. Not too fine.
  2. Place in cake ring and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  3. Blend all the ingredients for the frosting in food processor until smooth.
  4. Pour over the walnut base and spread evenly.
  5. Leave to set in the fridge overnight.
  6. Best served with date and coconut cream.
