Taking care of my gut health is always front of mind, especially when I’m off exploring new places, travelling for work and soaking in all that life has to offer.
Whilst travelling is such a beautiful opportunity to nourish my mind, body and spirit, it can certainly take its toll – especially when my schedule is packed during a press tour or we’re launching JSHealth Vitamins in a new region! I’ve realised it’s all about finding that balance and making loving choices that truly support my body, even when I’m out of routine and far from home.
Below I’ve put together my protocol. I’ve curated these tips over the years, and truly swear by them to feel energised and balanced whilst on the go.
Give your gut the care it deserves and you will be surprised with how much can transform!

Stay Hydrated
Hydration is key! I carry a water bottle wherever I am and sip throughout the day to promote regular bowel movements. Herbal teas like peppermint or ginger are another wonderful way to stay on top of your water intake and soothe your digestion.
Probiotic Support
I always pack a shelf-stable multi-strain probiotic supplement, and aim to include probiotic-rich foods like yoghurt or kimchi (where possible) in my meals to aid digestion.
Fibre Focus
Fibre is crucial for gut health. I opt for fibre-rich snacks such as fresh fruits, nuts and seeds to keep my digestion regular. I also throw the JSHealth Protein Bars in my bag, which offer a truly nourishing and satiating snack (especially in transit) with an extra boost of fibre.
Minimise Processed Foods
Of course, one of the best parts of travelling is exploring delicious new cuisines. What allows me to feel my best is steering clear of highly processed foods – instead opting for fresh, whole foods that are easier to digest and reduce gut inflammation.
Mindful Eating
Oftentimes, travelling can be very chaotic! I make an effort to eat mindfully – taking my time to chew each bite thoroughly and enjoy my meal with gratitude. This aids digestion and prevents bloating.
Prioritise Sleep
Travelling often causes routine to go out the window. I strive to stick to my regular sleep schedule and ritual as much as possible, as quality sleep allows the gut to rest and repair. Read more about my soothing Nighttime Routine here.
Manage Stress
Stress management is vital because the gut and brain are intricately linked – high stress levels can disrupt digestion and cause inflammation in the gut. Alternatively, cultivating a relaxed and calm state of mind, can help to support a calm and happy gut. I make a conscious effort to minimise stress through practices like deep breathing, meditation or gentle yoga, regardless of where I am in the world. We have an abundance of these on the JSHealth App, which you can try for free.
