The Liver Loving Detox Salad

Our liver is the organ that works to detoxify – it works so hard to process all the toxins, heavy metals and hormones that pass through it. A sluggish liver can cause your body an array of unwanted symptoms and complications. What causes strain on your liver? You know it! Sugar, alcohol, caffeine, heavy metals, (mercury), hormonal imbalances, environmental chemicals/toxins.

This salad contains an abundance of liver loving ingredients!

Ingredients

For the Salad

  • 1/2 red cabbage (shaved)
  • 1/4 white cabbage ( shaved)
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli
  • 1/2 cup spinach/rocket
  • 1 tbsp walnuts
  • 1/4 cup fresh shallots chopped
  • 1/4 avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cup sliced fennel
  • roasted cinnamon carrots (roasted in coconut butter and cinnamon in the oven)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 pear sliced ( optional)
  • 1 tbsp mixed raw seeds

For the Dressing

  • 1 tsp turmeric (amazing liver protectant- potent detoxifier), 1/2 lemon juice, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, tsp tahini, tsp raw honey, pinch of Himalayan salt!

 

Method

For the salad

  1. Mix the ingredients in a bowl

For the dressing

  1. Mix the ingredients with a whisk and pour over the salad

Note:

Add a portion of your favourite protein!
