A Holiday Must: Byron Bay

14 October 2014

It was such a blessing to spend a week away with my family. We’re a very close family, but life often gets in the way – we’re all busy juggling work and projects, and while we try to prioritize time for ourselves and each other, sometimes a break from the norm is necessary. You don’t need to travel far to get a sense of escape and relaxation, which is why this trip was so ideal. We had a fantastic time exploring this gorgeous little town north of Sydney. I wanted to share with you some of my favourite bits of Byron Bay.

Roadhouse Cafe Bar

Our family favourite, without a doubt. It features local, organic and absolutely delicious produce. So many healthy options for breaky, lunch and dinner. The best scene and vibe in Byron – an absolute must-go.

My fav breaky options:
Zucchini and chickpea fritters
Chocolate buckwheat crepes
THE COFFEE – best in Byron

Naked Treaties

The best organic raw food spot in Australia. Incredible smoothies, juices, raw treats and raw food options.

Favourite smoothie: I Am Powerful
Favourite juice: My Liver Loves Me + I Am Light
Favourite raw treat: chocolate bliss balls and Snickers bar

Succulent Café

An absolutely delicious breakfast option! I had (and loved) the green scrambled eggs with mushies and avocado.

Bay Leaf Café

Beautiful café – you must get the breaky greens with poached eggs. Unbelievable!

Top Shop

Love it. My favorite dishes? An absolutely amazing breakfast toast with quinoa, banana and tahini, a very creamy acai bowl, and a gorgeous Bircher muesli. They also have delish coffee!

Targa

A gorgeous option for a more upmarket dinner spot. We tried a DIVINE grass-fed steak, delicious grilled wild fish with lentils – and you must get the side of greens!

And if you’re looking to do some of your own cooking, you must visit Santos and Fundies – fabulous health food stores.

The Farm  – new! Three Blue Ducks has come from Sydney to Byron. Gorgeous farm style restaurant – open planned. Delicious bakery too. I had the bircher muesli for breakfast!

St Elmos – best wine bar in Byron.
