Green smoothies are a simple way to increase your daily vegetable intake and this one does just that, without compromising on taste. Add a squeeze of lime juice to this smoothie for some extra zest and flavour.
Green Smoothie Bowl
- 1 frozen banana, sliced
- ½ zucchini, roughly chopped (preferably frozen)
- large handful of spinach leaves or kale
- ¼ avocado
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (pea or whey protein) or 2 tbsp LSA or 2 tbsp almond meal
- handful of mint leaves (optional)
- 1 cup ice cubes
- berries, to serve
- coconut flakes, to serve
Place all of the ingredients, except for the berries and coconut flakes, in to a blender. Blitz until the smoothie reaches a creamy consistency. If the mixture is too thick, add 1-2 tbsp of water.
To serve, pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl and top with berries and coconut flakes.
