Every now and then I get stuck in a bit of a fitness rut. I love my regular yoga, Pilates and jogging routine, but I’m always ready to try out something new and fun. That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about Nia Dance Fitness, a new studio in the eastern suburbs run by the amazing Carli Freiberg.
Nia is an energetic, expressive movement practice that leaves you feeling refreshed and alive. It’s a fusion of dance, martial arts and healing arts – a mindful dance experience that’s gentle on the body but revitalizing for your spirit.
Part of my journey in maintaining positive mental and physical health has been to practice mindfulness. When I discovered Nia and the power of movement medicine, I realized that this is the best kept secret. Through this dance fitness, I release tension in my body and positively shape the way I look, feel and think. My mission is to inspire people to have fun, let go and feel the joy of mindful movement. Through cultivating a body-centred awareness, I wish to empower people to enjoy greater mental and physical health.
