With a few simple swaps and delicious daily editions, it can be easy to add extra nutrients into your day.
Here are a few of my favourite ideas for an added serving of goodness:
- Ensure half your plate if fresh greens or veggies. This instantly adds nutrients to your day. Try your local farmers market for fresh produce that’s affordable and seasonal.
- Aim to have one fresh green veggie juice a day. I like to have mine mid-morning and with only a little green apple to sweeten.
- Sneak veggies into dinner casseroles, soups and curries. There are a bunch of yummy recipe ideas in my second book.
- Start your day with a smoothie. It’s such a great way to get a whole lot of vitamins, minerals and fibre in first thing. Try the JSHealth Power Protein Smoothie with an extra handful of baby spinach or kale!
- Ensure you always have a big water bottle in front of you at work or home so that you can sip it throughout the day.
- Spend 1-2 hours on a Sunday or Monday prepping your fridge and pantry. This sets you up for a wholesome week ahead. You can find my top tips for healthy meal prep here!
- Aim to make 1-2 small dietary changes a week – don’t overwhelm yourself with trying to do it all. For example, swap your potato mash for cauliflower mash or white rice for brown rice. These simple swaps can make such a difference to your overall health!
